Naatadavu 1
Playlist 63: Alignment awareness in Adavus
•
4m 33s
This Adavu has a stretching action in the leg where the foot is flexed and the heel is placed on the floor. The alignment of the hip bones is important in this. The turn-out and stability in the Araimandi position of the dancer must have developed by the time he/she starts the Naatadavu. If this is not done, the toes will not turn up completely while the leg is outstretched to the side, without dropping one of the hips. If you find that you are shifting your weight and are unable to hold centre in this, please practice the Strength module 1 in series 1 and also do the hip openers in the flexibility series.
