Please watch the Talam lectures upto Lecture 5 before beginning this Korwe. There are two parts for the instruction of this Korwe, in Adi Talam.
The Korwe series continues with a variety of Talams. This is the first Korwe in Adi Talam that layers the adavus in all 5 Jathis. (Tishra, Chatushra, Khanda, Mishra, Sankeerna)
The layering of all 5 Jathis on a Korwe people sometimes refer to as 'Nadai'. Do not get confused with the terminology. Many people also refer to Gati as Nadai. They are not the same thing. Gati refers to an intrinsic change in the rhythmic structure of the division of the talam. 'Jathi' here refers to the rhythmic layering of adavus on top of the basic rhythm without changing the basic rhythmic structure. (Please watch the lectures on Talam to clarify)
Try to notice the difference in the rhythmic cycle as you dance. Try to make note of where the Avartanam ends as you dance.
These Korwes are meant for practice. They may or may not be a part of subsequent repertoire.
